A journey to J.W.v. Goethe
|

Day 1 Eisenach and Erfurt:
Visit the old Wartburg castle where Goethe enjoyed his stay very much,
according to his writings. Continue to Erfurt. Walk through „Thuringian
Rome“, where he „experienced some good adventures“,
as he later put it.
Day 2 Weimar:
Walk through the town and the park by the River Ilm to see Goethe’s
first domicile and later place of refuge. Visit his former house on
Frauenplan Square which is now a museum as well as Goethe’s and
Schiller’s tombs on the historical cemetery.
Day 3 Dornburg and Bad Lauchstädt:
Travel to the Dornburg castles via the town of Jena. Visit the castles
where Goethe worked on his dramas „Iphigenie“ and „Egmont“.
Continue along the River Saale and past Naumburg to Bad Lauchstädt.
Visit the summer theatre built under Goethe’s direction, which
still
works with the original stage technology.
Drive on to Leipzig, Goethe’s „Little Paris“,
the city where he spent his student days.
Visit Auerbach’s Cellar in the evening.
Here Goethe spent many an evening collecting ideas for his „Faust“.
Day 4 Leipzig:
Tour of the city including a visit to the church of St. Thomas.
Then journey home/further programmes.
